Who we are

DC Registered Agents is the trade name of DCRegisteredagents.com, LLC, a District of Columbia limited liability company (DC file no. L00006105992). We provide registered agent service in the District of Columbia only.

What the service is

For $199 per year we act as the registered agent of record for one District of Columbia entity: we maintain a street address in the District, accept service of process, notices, and demands on the entity's behalf, scan and forward them the same business day to the contact the entity designates, and send reminders ahead of the biennial report deadline. Fees charged by the District are the entity's responsibility and are separate from our fee.

What the service is not

We are not a law firm and do not give legal advice. Statutory citations on this site are provided for convenience. Forwarding a document does not mean we have reviewed it, and it is your responsibility to act on anything we forward within the time the document or the law allows. We are not a general mail-forwarding or virtual office service; routine commercial mail addressed to your company at our office may be returned to sender.

Your responsibilities

Keep a current email address and mailing address on file with us so that we can forward what we receive, as D.C. Code § 29-104.13 contemplates. Tell us promptly if your company changes its name, dissolves, or appoints a different agent.

Term, renewal, and ending service

Service runs for one year from the date we are designated and renews for successive one-year terms at $199 unless either of us ends it. You may end service at any time by designating a new registered agent with DLCP. We may resign as your agent as D.C. Code § 29-104.10 allows, with notice to you, including for non-payment. Fees already paid are not refunded once we are your agent of record.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim arising from the service in a given year is limited to the fees you paid us for that year, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, and any dispute is brought in the courts of the District of Columbia.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version. Material changes to the service are communicated to clients by email.
